TimberTech’s VertiGrain 2 Grey Decking was used on last night’s episode of Grand Design to create a stunning patio space for the Flewers family at their home in Malvern Hillside retreat.

Their home is built in an area of outstanding beauty built into the hillside in Malvern. To begin they had a size of 210 m2 with a build budget of £450,000. The project involved tricky excavation work into fractured granite with the risk of landslips.

The Flewers family were based in New Zealand when they discovered the site, which they bought without seeing it. They struggled to begin with in finding the right builders for the job, however, Jonathon and Gillian have settled in and are enjoying their wonderful three-story home.

Kevin McCloud commented on the project, saying ‘It’s an incredible attempt to build into a steep hill with views over a stunning landscape to boot’. He continued saying ‘This is a story of New Zealand’s past, combined with longing and life-changing experiences’.

The Flewers family used our VertiGrain 2 Grey decking. This is a beautiful composite wood product with a grained surface that makes it look just like natural timber. Extremely stylish and cutting edge, the simplicity of this grey garden decking looks particularly striking against the Flewers family home, and especially works great in large spaces, bringing a sense of light and space in a more secluded area.

VertiGrain 2 Grey garden decking requires almost zero maintenance – the boards don’t need to be stained or oiled, and they’ll never crack or splinter like some other products.

TimberTech’s composite decking range offers the best in the current market. For those who seek decking with a real, flat wood grain finish, TimberTech’s Reliaboard decking offers the perfect solution, and it is currently on sale at a reduced price. Those who buy and take delivery by September will save £13.10 on the usual price of £65.46  per square metre.

TimberTech’s Reliaboard is available in both Cedar and Grey finishes, both of which are characterised by the natural wood grain pattern that is almost indistinguishable from real grained timber. With Reliaboard comes the durability and virtually maintenance-free qualities of composite decking.

WHY CHOOSE RELIABOARD

Despite its impressive similarity in appearance to traditional wood decking, Reliaboard is an up-to-the-minute composite alternative to timber. Composite decking is manufactured using recycled wood and plastics. This produces decking boards that are strong and weather-resistant, with a beautiful finish that rivals any traditional timber.

As well as being resistant to the extremes of weather, Reliaboard composite decking is also durable in other respects. Reliaboard resists damage from water, mould, fungus and infestations that besiege traditional wood. Reliaboard does not need sanding, staining, sealing or renovating. This makes Reliaboard virtually maintenance-free. It is also resistant to staining and scratching, and special filters added to the composite material ensure stability of colour.

FIXING AND FLEXIBILITY
The two colours in which Reliaboard is available – Cedar and Grey – make available options that will blend with almost every environment, and the traditional grained timber appearance will enhance its appearance in all surroundings. The two-colour options will also provide a perfect background for a wide variety of furnishings, decorative objects and plants, enhancing rather than limiting the designs and themes that are available to the customer.

Like other composite decking materials, Reliaboard does not require specialist tools to work, and the same equipment used to work traditional timber are sufficient.

Because Reliaboard is available in two profile types there are options available for fixing the deck boards to the frames. Boards with an ungrooved edge are fixed in the traditional manner using TimberTech’s TOPLoc screws that are colour-matched to the boards, making them hard to spot, whilst grooved-edged boards can be fixed using TimberTech’s ConcealLOC Fasteners which are invisible. Both systems leave the flat-grained surface of the boards unmarred by the fixing process.

SIZING
Reliaboard deck boards are sized at 136mm wide x 24mm thick x 3.6m long, but please note TimberTech boards are cut at a length of 3.66metres. This allows each board to be cut to a minimum length of 3.6metres. Boards can easily be cut to size before fixing, which is part of the recommended method of construction.

Don’t miss out on this fantastic sale! The current sale price offers a reduction of 20%, with a saving of £13.10 per square metre.

TimberTech's EasyClean Tropical Walnut Decking was used to create a surprise garden on tonight's episode of ITV Love Your Home & Garden with Alan Titchmarsh.

Donna Plaice has restricted vision and is registered blind, she is also sadly fighting cancer. Donna's main carers during the day, whilst her husband works, are her two young daughters.  The Love Your Home & Garden team decided to try and relieve the daily stresses on the family by providing them with a fabulous outdoor space to relax in.

A lot of people are attracted to having hardwood decking on their property but are reluctant to commit to the idea on the grounds that decking of this kind is high maintenance and takes a lot of time and effort to keep in good condition. But there is a simple solution to this dilemma: with EasyClean Tropical Walnut Decking you will have decking that has the appearance of hardwood, but which can be cleaned quickly and simply.

EasyClean Tropical Walnut Decking has a wide range of benefits that will be appreciated by any homeowner. It is resilient and will last for a long time without the decay or splintering that blights traditional hardwood: keeping it clean is a straightforward matter of wiping down its protective overlay. As it is made using a mixture of recycled wood and synthetic material, rather than from trees specially felled for its manufacture, it is far more environmentally friendly than real hardwood. If you decide to get EasyClean Tropical Walnut Decking installed in your property, then your guests will not be able to tell the difference between it and true hardwood. It comes with all of the aesthetic virtues of hardwood decking, but absolutely none of the drawbacks!
