Grey decking is becoming increasingly popular amongst our customers, and it's not difficult to see why. As the popularity and appeal of the industrial trend continues to gain momentum, it's hard to recall a time when home and garden accessories in muted colour palettes weren't a staple in many homes.Whether it's from our commercial or residential customers, there seems to be an increased appetite for an alternative to the traditional warm, natural wood tones, in favour of a cool, subdued grey palette. Although we agree that both warm and cool decks can look fantastic in any outdoor space, we thought we'd focus on the use of grey decking today, to offer some inspiration to those who may be seeking this alternative.
Use One: Brighten up a Shaded Area
Light grey decking can be an ideal way to add a bright, modern addition to a shaded area with lots of greenery, providing an interesting contrast to the more traditional aspects of a garden design. As you can see below, our VertiGrain decking in grey works fantastically in large spaces, bringing an increased sense of light and space in a more secluded area.
Use Two: Contrast With Warm Tones
If your property has warm coloured brickwork or dark wood finishes, grey decking can be a fantastic way to create a stylish contrast between the two areas. Thanks to the warmer tones in our Edeck boards, our customers are able to bring a new contemporary edge to their property without creating a sense of mismatch. The deck compliments brickwork perfectly, combining traditional and modern elements to create an attractive and functional space.
Use Three: Go all Grey
Grey decking can look fantastic in combination with grey walls and furniture, creating a stunning monochromatic look without appearing too uniform or drab. When combined with brightly coloured accessories and plants, all-grey spaces can appear stylish as well as homely, as you can see from this image of our Ashwood deck below.
Use Four: Pair With White Accessories
Grey decking looks incredible in combination with white garden dining sets and other outdoor living accessories, producing a stunning yet subtle monochromatic finish. It also looks incredible against garden greenery.
