Most of our composite garden decking is designed to look as close to wood as possible, but wood-style decking isn't the only string on our bow! We like to branch out occasionally, and Slate Garden Decking is the perfect example of a beautiful decking design that doesn't just imitate ordinary wood.

This gorgeously modern garden decking still has those authentic, wooden-looking lines that define all of our decking boards, but the eye-catching metallic colour really serves to set it apart. It's great for a contemporary-looking garden, and we think that the slate-style garden decking would go especially well with our cable railing system. Slate-style decking and stainless steel cables - now that's a seriously sleek combination!

Don't worry if you're not keen on the cables, though, because slate-style decking also looks rather nice when paired with our glass balustrade system. In fact, you don't really need a rail at all if you don't want one - the slate garden decking looks delightful no matter what you do with it. We love the old-fashioned wood look, but we're equally smitten with the magnificently modern appearance that the slate-style decking provides.

Composite decking is far more versatile than other kinds of garden decking. It doesn't need as much maintenance as hardwood decking, and it's sturdier than PVC; whether you opt for this stylish slate decking or one of our more traditional wood-style products, composite decking really is the perfect choice!

A rather lovely pair of photos dropped into our inbox this week. Bringing the TimberTech touch to this property near the Champ de Mars was one of the most enjoyable decking jobs we’ve ever undertaken, and we’re thrilled that the owner has sent us a couple of pictures to share with you. As dream decks go, a gorgeous Parisian terrace with a top-notch view of the Eiffel Tower is pretty hard to beat!

The boards used on this balcony are from our VertiGrain range – it was already our most popular product, and these photos are a fantastic advertisement for it! VertiGrain decking boards have a wood-style veneer that looks and feels just as good as the real deal, and the resilient, low-maintenance composite construction means that you don’t have to spend too much time on care and repair.

We’d all love to have a balcony in Paris (especially one with a close-up view of the Eiffel Tower), but you don’t need a dream home to have a dream deck. Our composite decking looks fantastic no matter where it is, so whether you live on the Seine or in Suffolk, a deck will always make a fantastic addition to your property.

If you live in the UK, you'll not have failed to notice that it's been unseasonably cold recently. Many locations have been hit by heavy snowfall, and garden lovers nationwide have been crying 'where is spring?!' for several weeks now.

Cold weather can be a big concern for owners of traditional wooden decking, and suppliers strongly recommend that you seal your wood when the mercury falls to prevent it from growing brittle and cracking. This is just one of the many weatherproofing measures that wooden decks require; whether it's raining, snowing, or even sunny, wood will always need a lot of looking after.

This is not the case with composite decking. TimberTech products are designed to be robust and resilient, even in the toughest conditions. Our composite decks don't need sealing, staining or treating; they're already well-equipped to cope with the cold. Composite materials don't crack or break easily, and it will take a lot more than a prolonged British winter to break through our decking's defences!

So while it may be a while before the weather is nice enough to actually spend some time on your deck, you can at least take comfort in the knowledge that your decking will still be intact when the sun finally does come out!

Hardwood decking has plenty of advantages. High-quality, genuine hardwood looks and feels fabulous, and the authentic feel is more than worth the cost.

But hardwood decking can also be a bit of a hassle. Installation can be fiddly, especially if you want your decking to look good, and real wood requires rather a lot of maintenance and care. And then of course come the issues of rot, decay, splintering, and general fading over time. Your tropically-coloured hardwood decking may look great when you buy it, but how long will it stay that way?

That’s why we’re so passionate about composite decking. Installation is a breeze – you won’t require any specialist tools, and the Concealoc system gives you a flawless finish without any difficulty. Better yet, once your composite decking is down, you only need to sweep it and give it a light power wash now and again to keep it spectacular. Stripping and oiling don’t enter into it!

Composite decking is also more durable, resisting rot and decay for decades. For more information on why we believe that composite decking is so much better than hardwood decking, head over to our hardwood decking page.

TimberTech UK have overseen hundreds of decking installation projects over the years, bringing our beautiful composite decking products to homes and commercial properties alike. Some of our more high-profile decking installation jobs have even been featured on TV! Here are some of our favourite composite decking projects from down the years:

Tenby Lifeboat Station

Perhaps the highest-profile decking installation we've ever undertaken, not least because the project was featured on Channel 4's Grand Designs programme! Tenby Lifeboat Station was a listed building in need of some serious renovation, and our composite dekcing products were the perfect solution, especially given the building's proximity to the ocean. Our decks don't warp or rot like normal wooden decks do when they get wet, and several years on, the Lifeboat Station still looks just as great as it did when it was first completed!

Yorkshire Care Homes

This project saw us visiting a pair of council-owned care homes in South Yorkshire and installing over 1,400 square metres of our beautiful composite decking in their outdoor areas. Slip-resistant and low-maintenance, TimberTech's products were ideal for the staff and residents of the home, and since then we have also provided decking installation services for care homes in Monmouth and Dublin.

All of this is a mere taste of what we and our composite decking products are capable of achieving.
